Good People

StageWest Theater Company, Des Moines, IA
Good People is set in contemporary South Boston, a working-class and traditionally Irish neighborhood. The play touches on issues of race, gender, and class, asking if the difference between those who are born, live, work and die in South Boston and those who move on and up is luck or hard work or both. The costumes for Good People needed to look true to life, like real people would have them in their real closets.

Special appreciation to Becky Scholtec who embraced Margie’s discomfort and wore the ill-fitting and inappropriate party dress – completely wrong for the occasion but perfect for the scene.
